Foxgroves Recruitment wins regional award

Foxgroves Recruitment has been awarded Recruitment Agency of the Year (Cumbria Region) at the Business Awards UK, just 18 months after being founded by Lyndsey Fitheridge, chief executive officer.

Ms Fitheridge, who is originally from Penrith and a former Queen Elizabeth Grammar School student, said: "I'm absolutely honoured by this recognition.

"After 18 months of hard work building Foxgroves from scratch, this award validates our mission to do recruitment differently – with purpose, sustainability, and genuine care for our community."

The company was nominated in two categories at the awards and ultimately took home the top prize for its region.

Foxgroves Recruitment supports businesses across Cumbria and southwest Scotland by sourcing HR and business support staff, and has placed more than 30 HR and business professionals in new roles since its launch.

The judges praised the company for its commercial success and 'holistic' approach to recruitment, which includes community support and 'innovative' business practices.

Among its community initiatives, Foxgroves has created a support group for sole female entrepreneurs in Cumbria and launched HR on the Solway, a networking group designed to connect HR professionals in remote parts of Dumfriesshire.

The company also supports charities in the areas through donations, volunteering, and by sharing professional expertise.

Ms Fitheridge also volunteers with the Cumbria Careers Hub, mentoring young people with the aim of helping to bridge the gap between education and the workplace.

She recently delivered business studies lessons at a sixth form in the area.

Foxgroves says it is committed to 'fair' screening processes, "challenging discriminatory practices, and finding the perfect cultural fit for both employers and candidates."

The company advocates for "fair pay and equal pay for equal work."

Sustainability is also central to the business, with a 'digital-first' approach designed to reduce emissions and promote eco-friendly practices throughout 'all' their processes.

The Business Awards UK aim to celebrate organisations across sectors that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and positive impact in their communities.

Lyndsey, CEO said: "Foxgroves Recruitment continues to grow its presence in the region as the go-to HR and Business Support Recruitment Specialist, while maintaining its commitment to ethical recruitment practices and community engagement."
